Celebration for Father Gregorio in Bolivia
On 23 April the sisters of the “San Francisco” community celebrated the bicentenary of the birth of Father Gregory Fioravanti in the just about parish church of “Don Bosco”.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Don Juan Carlos Vargas OFM conv. All the sisters of the "Virgen de Copacabana" delegation participated in this celebration, led by the delegate Sr. Gladys Chávez Pillancari, the Director of the EU "San Francisco de Asís" "B" Msgr. Mercedes Yolanda Tapia, Sr. Maggaly Warthon The Director of 'EU "St. Clare of Assisi, the director of the EU" San Francisco de Asís "of Santa Cruz Lic. Marlene Mamani, teachers, administrative staff, students participating in the catechesis of First Communion and Confirmation, lay associates of Cochabamba and three lay associates of Santa Cruz, the Benedictine sisters, three Franciscan friars who collaborate in the catechesis of Confirmation and YOUFRA, and some relatives of the sisters participated the celebration.
In his homily, Fr. Juan Carlos underlined the sacrifice and fatigue that have characterized Fr Gregory’s life since his childhood, which led him to abandon himself totally to Divine Providence, reflecting himself in the paternity and dedication with which he carried out the foundation and how he guided the Congregation with wisdom.
During the Holy Mass, we sisters renewed our vows of obedience, poverty and chastity, giving everyone witness to the fidelity and joy of being totally consecrated to the Lord and to his mission in the world.
At the end of the Eucharist, the announcement of the Jubilee of "Venerable Father Gregory" was made, and to give a sign of this moment his image was given to each of the presidents of the courses, so that they can put it in their classrooms.
